Situated at nearly 1000ft above sea level just above Tansley village and set in 50 acres of beautiful countryside. Established as a nursery some 250 years ago, James Smith (Scotland Nurseries) has supplied trees, shrubs, rhododendrons and heathers to customers all over the country, many of the Royal gardens are stocked with plants from this nursery.

Now very popular as a well stocked, tidy and colourful garden centre with a beautiful gift shop, a relaxing coffee shop and restaurant which is a popular venue for morning coffee, full lunches or afternoon tea's, and a quaint chocolate shop and cafe offering home made cakes and hand made chocolates. Also available are landscaping supplies.
